दीपो भक्षयते ध्वान्तं कज्जलं च प्रसूयते।
यदन्नं भक्षयेन्नित्यं जायते तादृशी प्रजा॥
यदन्नं भक्षयेन्नित्यं जायते तादृशी प्रजा॥
Transliteration:
dīpo bhakṣayate dhvāntaṃ kajjalaṃ ca prasūyate।
yadannaṃ bhakṣayennityaṃ jāyate tādṛśī prajā॥
yadannaṃ bhakṣayennityaṃ jāyate tādṛśī prajā॥
Hindi Translation:
दीप अन्धकार को खा कर काला काजल बनाता है।
इसी प्रकार जैसा हम् खाते हैं, वैसा ही हम उत्पन्न (संतान) करते हैं।
English Translation:
The lamp consumes darkness and produces dark soot. Similarly, what food we eat affects
what we produce (offspring).
